HO Scale Slot cars have never been held to an accurate scale like Model Railroading.
Most slot car bodies have basically been whatever fits over the chassis and looks as close to the intended vehicle as
possible regardless of scale.  The same make and model of a 1:1 vehicle can be different scales depending on the make
and model of the chassis it was designed to go over.  A wide variety and range of scales have been used for vehicles
to run on HO slot car tracks.  Marchon sold F-15 Jet Fighters that are tiny next to the Jeremy McGrath Dirt Bikes that
Mattel sold.   Micro Scalextric sold Star Wars vehicles which like Marchon's Jets are to wide to pass each other, so
the objective is to knock the other vehicle off the track.
