Modular Construction: Flat Spiral
|
This module is four foot by four foot square.
I called this "The Parking Lot" because I filled the blank space to the height of the track and painted it black.
I placed a bunch of static vehicles in the spaces that were not occupied by track so it would look a little more like a parking lot.
I considered painting the entire suface black with yellow parking lines but decided to go with visibility for driving instead, so I painted all the 6" radius 1/4 circle curves yellow so they would stand out.

This is what I call a key image because it defines the number of tracks and where they are.
Part of this module was in the front of the first level in the Headboard Layout.
A lot of track in a little space, plus all available at the time curve radii in a gradually tightning then loosening pattern and almost no vehicles fail around this module.

|
This is what I call a flow image which shows where a lane exits each section of track on the module.
Image also shows that it is a fair and balanced module with both lanes being exactly the same length with the exception of the 1/2 circle of 6" radius in the front which is intended to balance the Head-On module elsewhere.
I should have put some squeezes and consecutive lane changes in place of some of those sections of 2-9" straight to make it seem more like serious road rage going on in the parking lot.
Or just connect the entrance and exit together and you have a nice layout that could be hinged on a wall or raised to the ceiling and take nearly no space when not in use.
